What this site collects, which is very little
No account, no mailing list, no contact form. Here is what actually happens when you load a page.
No list, no form, no account
Hardenstep has no newsletter, no sign-up box and no contact form. There is nowhere on this site to enter an email address, so we do not hold one unless you have written to us yourself, in which case your email sits in a mailbox and is used to reply to you and nothing else.
There is no login, no comment system and no user profile.
Server logs
The server that delivers these pages keeps standard request logs — the page requested, the time, a truncated network address, the browser's user-agent string. They exist to keep the site running and to notice when something is broken or being attacked. They are not used to build a profile of you and are not sold or shared.
What a /go/ link does
Links to training providers on this site point at an address beginning /go/. Following one sends you to the provider through a redirect that lets the provider's own system attribute the visit to us. That redirect is where the commercial relationship lives, and it is why those links are marked sponsored nofollow in the page source.
Once you arrive at the provider, you are on their site under their privacy policy, and whatever they set in your browser is theirs, not ours. We never see your name, your email or your payment details — only, eventually, an anonymous count of conversions.
Cookies and analytics
Nothing on Hardenstep writes a cookie in your browser, and we run no analytics product — no visitor counter, no tag manager, no pixel. Source links to ISC2, CompTIA, ISACA, OffSec, Coursera and the Bureau of Labor Statistics are plain outbound links, and opening one puts you on that organisation's site under its own policy rather than ours.
Children
This is a publication about professional certification and is not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 16.
